The grinding and polishing process cannot be completed without the use of diamond abrasives. Lower numbers denote coarser grits, and higher numbers denote finer grits. They come in different grit sizes. The desired finish and the initial state of the concrete surface will determine the grit size that should be used. Coarse Grits (30–70): In the early phases of grinding, defects are removed, and the surface is leveled, using coarse grits. Heavy coatings, adhesives, or mastics can be effectively removed using these grits. Medium Grits (80-150): After the first grinding, medium grits are used to polish the surface.
